Who Is "Sugar" Shane Mosley?

Right now, everyone is talking about the big fight that's going to happen this coming May 1, 2010 and I'm sure you already know what I'm talking about, it's the big fight between "The Money" Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and "Sugar" Shane Mosley. Everybody knows Floyd Mayweather, the former pound-for-pound king, the guy who should have fought Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. But what about his opponent for the said boxing match this 1st of May? What about Shane Mosley?
Only a few people knows who Shane Mosley is and they all come from the world of boxing. But now, his name is ringing in almost every corner of the world. Even the not-so-avid boxing fans already heard of the name, Shane Mosley. But who is the guy, really?
"Sugar" Shane Mosley is a boxer who hails from Pomona, California. He has already won world titles in three different weight divisions. Right now, he is the WBA Welterweight Super Champion.

Before he became world champion, he was a very aggressive amateur boxer before. His last title was United State amateur champion in 1992 and at light welterweight, he also had an amateur record of 96-3. A very outstanding record indeed.
In 1993, he started his pro boxing career and he beat Phillip Holiday to win the IBF Lightweight title. After that fight, he was already on the hit-list of every boxer that you could think of from Oscar De La Hoya, Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright, Fernando Vargas, Luis Callazo, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and now, he is scheduled for the Mayweather vs Mosley fight this coming May 1, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
But this fight was sort of a twist of fate, if you may say. Sugar was scheduled to fight Andre Berto for a WBC and WBA Welterweight title unification bout on January 30, 2010. But the Haiti earthquake forced Berto to cancel his fight against Shane because he lost several family members on that disaster. Immediately afterwards, negotiations were made for the fight between him and Floyd and it ended with the agreement of both sides and that's how the May 1 match was conceived.
Now, everyone is prepared to watch Mayweather vs Mosley fight. The winner of that bout is supposedly to fight against the reigning pound-for-pound king and the current holder of seven different titles from seven different divisions, the pride of the Philippines, the "Pambansang Kamao", Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
