It seems that Floyd Mayweather Jr. won't stop blabbering anything about Manny Pacquiao. Just recently, the pound-for-pound king won against Joshua Clottey in the "The Event" match which The Pacman had won via unanimous decision for the whole 12-round fight. I bet Mr. Floyd and the rest of his entourage had their eyes glued on the TV set and watched the Pacquiao vs Clottey fight. After the fight, he (Mayweather) had this words to say and to quote:"Personally, I think Pacquiao got exposed in that fight for being one-dimensional. You can have all [the] offensive ability in the world but with no defense you're not going to last long against a good counter puncher such as myself. Look at the way Clottey was getting through, each time he threw something it landed. Then at the end Pacquiao's was all busted up, when’s the last time you’ve seen my face all messed up like that? That’s the difference between an amateur and a true pound for pound boxer."
"The attendance numbers ain't nothing compared to what I have drawn in the past or what I would have drawn if that was me in the ring that night, everybody knows that. Half those seats were empty in the back and people say Pacquiao is a draw? Let's not forget who generated 2.5 million PPV buys in one fight alone. The only reason why he’s popular is because he's an ethnic minority and from the Philippines so it's something special. If he was from Africa, he would be just another boxer."
Yes, Pacman really exposed himself to Clottey but what can you expect? This is no beauty contest. This is a boxing match, for chrissakes! It is part of the Pacman's strategy to lure out Clottey from his defensive shell. But try as he might, the turtle won't come out of his shell and keeps on covering himself. I also have to hand it to The Money. He's a pretty boy, alright. That's it! He's a good defensive fighter. That's it! Pacquiao proved to everyone in the world that he's worthy of being called pound-for-pound king. I'm sure everybody in this whole wide world would love to see Mayweather prove that he is also worthy to be called pound-for-pound king. It seems he might get the chance to do that this coming May 1st when he faces Shane Mosley. Oh, boy, I do hope Mr. Mayweather, Jr. will win in the Mayweather vs Mosley boxing match! Go Mayweather, go!
